Congratulations to Esthervilanovacardona3 for winning the March Homebyme project of the month! CASA is a well-planned home with a double-sided fireplace in the perfect spot to be seen from just about anywhere in the home. It would be wonderful as a cozy chalet in the mountains where the main attraction is outdoor activities, but inside activities are comfortable and casual. There is ample space for three, or even more if the couch and floor space are utilized. Let’s take a look around.
The entry (blue arrow) is tucked into the inside corner and leads into a home office (or gaming room) with two bedrooms to the left and the central bathroom on the right.
Walls of glass and glass sliding doors give the work/play room some separation from the activities in the living room, but still provide great views.
Lots of storage and room for more electronics or paperwork make the space versatile and easy to work in. The warmth of wood along with a hardy cactus finishes it off nicely.
The living room is furnished with just the things you need. The fireplace is part of a large brick structure that helps divide the living room from the kitchen and soaks up heat too.
Here you can easily see how the fireplace is the real center of the home. Being able to see it from just about anywhere is great!
The dining area and kitchen are on the other side. It’s all very casual, but functional too.
A simple set of kitchen necessities meets the needs. I love the extra effort that went into the tiled inset which is home to a beautiful flower. It’s a great romantic touch that makes the room come alive.
Just imagine coming in from the frosty outside to some hot drinks or a tasty meal in this inviting setting. No fighting over who gets to sit closest to the fireplace!
Moving back through the work/play space we’ll find the bathroom straight ahead and the bedrooms to the right.
There is plenty of room in a generously-sized bathroom. The combination of large tiles and just the right mix of grays keep it elegant and useful.
The master bedroom benefits from the floor-to-ceiling slider, the dappled brick wall and lots of warm wood. Behind us is a wall of cabinets and storage spaces.
The second bedroom is smaller, but still nicely done. Space to sleep, to play and to store stuff is just about all you need. The natural light pouring in through the big window brightens it up and makes it seem bigger.
Now that you’ve seen this wonderful home and its relaxing features, it’s time to think about your own chalet! Where will you put your fireplace?
Please remember that every project creator has the option to continue developing any of their projects. When you go to a linked project it may be different than at the time the images above were created. Creativity continues, regardless of the clock!
Now it’s your turn!
